Thierry Giasson is a Full Professor in the Information and Communication Department at Université Laval, Quebec City. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Montreal. Dr Giasson is the Lead Investigator of the Research Laboratory on Political Communication (GRCP) at Université Laval. He is also a Research Associate in the Institut Technologie de l’information et Sociétés (ITIS) at Université Laval and at the Centre for the Study of Democratic Citizenship (CSCD) at McGill University. His work currently focuses on new forms of political communication on the Internet, on cognitive and physiological reactions to television election advertising, on media coverage of cultural diversity issues in Quebec and on the effects of political communication and marketing practices on electoral campaigns, political participation and civic engagement in Quebec and Canada.
